AI work pay checker
Put in the rate a platform is advertising and the hours you actually expect, and this page turns it
into a monthly and annual number you can plan around — after payout fees and after unpaid bench weeks — then tells
you whether that rate exists anywhere in what 46 real AI work platforms publish.
Built and maintained by Gopal Chandrawanshi · benchmarked against the
AI Work Rate Index (captured 28 Sep 2026) · no account, no email, your inputs are never sent anywhere
What this is for. The most common thing people write to us is "the page said
$50/hr and I earned nothing for three weeks". The arithmetic between an advertised rate and money in your account
is where people get hurt, and it is not complicated — it is simply never shown to you. Three multipliers sit in
between: payout fees, unpaid bench time, and how many weeks of paid work a project-driven platform actually gives
you.

The assumptions, stated plainly
A month is 4.33 weeks (52 ÷ 12). No rounding in anyone's favour.
Fees use the top of the published range, not the flattering end. Payment providers change their
schedules and your country changes the total — check the live fee page before you commit to a rail.
Bench time is the business model, not a glitch. Task-supply platforms pay nothing when no project fits
you, and most newcomers get far fewer tasks than the marketing implies for the first 2–6 weeks while their work is
quality-reviewed.
Rejected work is unpaid. That is why the honest figure is per approved hour — so the last card
divides by hours you were available, not hours you were billed.
Not tax or financial advice. On contractor income you are almost always responsible for your own tax
where you live — see taxes & payments.
Payout rail fee ranges used
Rail
Typical cost
What people actually lose
PayPal
2.9–4.4%
the fee you actually feel is the FX spread, not the headline percentage
Payoneer
0.0–3.0%
receiving is often free; local-currency withdrawal and the FX margin carry the cost
Wise
0.35–1.9%
mid-market rate; usually cheapest in total on larger amounts
Direct bank / ACH
0.0–1.0%
fees are small — the payout cycle (weekly vs on-completion) is the real variable
Crypto (USDT etc.)
1.0–12.0%
legitimate AI platforms do not pay this way; treat it as a red flag
Where the benchmark comes from
Every comparison number on this page is read from the AI Work Rate Index, which
copies what each platform publishes on its own recruiting page. Nothing is averaged with "insider" data, and
26 platforms that publish no number at all are recorded as missing rather than filled in from a
competitor. That is why the verdict can only ever say whether a figure appears in what companies publish — it is not
a prediction of what you will be paid. The full method, including the 2,080-hour conversion we apply to annual
quotes, is documented on that page.
If someone offered you a job rather than you comparing platforms, start with the
AI job scam checklist. Fee demands, "account rental", assessment
answers for sale and Telegram-only recruiters are the four we hear about most.
Advertising appears on this page. This is a general estimator: it does not
know your tax situation, your country's rules, or a platform's current payout terms.
