How We Verify AI Job Links
Our practical method for checking company identity, official career pages, location rules and listing freshness.
A directory should do more than collect links. This is the review process HowToAIjob uses and the limits readers should understand.
Source preference
We prefer a company’s own careers page. When an employer uses an applicant-tracking system, we check whether the company website links to that board or whether the board clearly identifies the employer. Community platforms may link to a registration page when individual assignments are visible only after signup.
Checks before inclusion
- Confirm the organization and destination use HTTPS.
- Compare the job or program with the company’s official site and public identity.
- Record location restrictions and distinguish worldwide remote from country-specific remote.
- Describe compensation as advertised, including “up to,” ranges and varying rates.
- Avoid presenting third-party reports as guaranteed current terms.
Freshness
Career pages change continuously. A link can remain live while a specific opening closes. We periodically recheck destinations, but readers must confirm availability and terms on the destination page at application time.
Referral links
Some destinations may contain referral parameters. A referral does not increase the price charged to an applicant and does not guarantee acceptance. We disclose this site-wide and do not rank a listing solely because a referral is available.
Corrections
If a listing is closed, misleading, unsafe or incorrectly described, send the exact URL and supporting detail through our contact page. We review correction requests and update or remove entries when warranted.
What verification does not mean
Verification means we checked the destination and public signals at a point in time. It is not employment, legal or financial advice; it is not a background check; and it is not a promise that every user will qualify, receive tasks or be paid a particular amount.
Why AI job scams specifically target the "remote work from home" search
Search terms like "AI jobs no experience," "work from home AI jobs 2026," "remote AI training jobs" and "side hustle AI training" get enormous search volume, and scammers know it. Fake listings mimic real platforms — Outlier, DataAnnotation, Scale AI, Appen, Mercor, Turing, Handshake AI — using near-identical branding, logos and even copied job descriptions, then redirect applicants to a lookalike domain that asks for payment or sensitive banking details upfront. The gap between a genuine listing and a cloned one is often only in the URL.
Step-by-step verification before you trust any AI job link
Always trace a listing back to the company's own domain rather than trusting a shared link, social media post or forwarded message. Check the URL character by character — scam domains commonly swap letters (e.g. "0" for "o"), add hyphens, or use a different top-level domain (.net or .org instead of the company's real .com or .ai). Look up the domain's registration age using a free WHOIS lookup; legitimate AI companies almost always have domains registered years earlier, while scam clones are frequently only weeks old. Cross-check the listing against the company's official LinkedIn careers page or their published careers URL.
Signals a listing is genuine
Real AI training and RLHF job postings link to an ATS platform (Lever, Greenhouse, Ashby, Workday) hosted on the company's own domain or a well-known applicant-tracking subdomain. They never ask for payment, "training fees," equipment deposits or your bank PIN before you've done any work. Pay ranges are described honestly as ranges tied to specific task types, not a single inflated headline number designed purely to attract clicks.
